It may take a little extra motivation – and planning – but with the right gear you can safely exercise outdoors through the cold months. Plan ahead for safe outdoor exercise in cooler weather:
- Check the forecast
- Choose footwear with proper traction
- Choose a synthetic bottom layer to draw away sweat
- Dress in layers to prevent overheating
- Make your top layer waterproof
