Avoid Crash Dieting

Many diets promise quick results by restricting your food intake – or food choices – to unrealistic, even dangerous, levels.  Crash diets will make you crash and burn.


  • Do not go on a diet you can’t sustain or you may gain additional weight.
  • Never shed pounds too fast – it can be hazardous to your health.
  • Make sure you eat enough calories, or your metabolism will slow down.
  • Stay away from any diet that makes an entire food group off limits.


ACTION: Focus on one or two small healthy eating goals each week to build healthy habits, support long term behavior change and sustain weight loss.
